Supported Independent Living Accommodation

The goal of SIL Accommodation  is help with and/or supervision of daily tasks to develop the skills of participants to live as independently as possible. These are the supports provided to a participant in their home, regardless of property ownership, and can be in a shared or individual arrangement.

Assistance provided to a participant will be included as part of their NDIS Plan depending on the level of support they require to live independently in the housing option of their choice

NDIS support where a person with a disability lives with other people. You will also receive support with everyday tasks like cleaning, cooking and personal care.

We can help you find a home.

  • SIL accommodation can suit a range of clients, including those who wish to live with friends or people they trust, where clients needs can be complex and other options are limited, or where it is a persons own choice.

  • SIL accommodation includes the support workers, and the skill & capacity builders, that clients may need to live in a shared arrangement.

  • SIL accommodation does not include board and lodging or other day to day usual living expenses such as food and activities, or the capital costs associated with a persons accommodation.

  • Many clients with a SIL arrangement can also have a Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) package, which covers the cost of the physical accommodation.
